Amber Eswani was born and raised in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. Interested in the arts since childhood, Eswani first came across film making in high school and never looked back. She received her Radio, Television and Digital Media degree and a minor in Journalism from the Southern Illinois University of Carbondale in 2017 and has been working as a freelance filmmaker and artist in the Chicago-land area since.
Her previous work includes working as a Producer for an Emmy-Award Winning Television show for PBS "alt.news 26:46", a photographer for Streamy award winning webseries "The T", an event organizer for the Jubilee Arts International Film Festival in Lisbon for it's first year running, a location's assistant for Showtime's "The Chi". Her most recent accomplishment is writing, directing and co-producing a film called "Fuzzy Legs" with Free Spirit Media in the Inpathways Cohort Program, which aired on WTTW PBS.
Her mission is to create stories that promote and inspire more women and people of color to tell their stories and come to the forefront, especially to those in her own South Asian and Muslim community- to promote pluralism, diversity, peace, love and more understanding in the world.
In her spare time she enjoys writing poetry, photography, and playing the ukulele.
